There are so many reasons why an Australian Apprenticeship could be a great financial decision for you!
The Australian Government supports Australian Apprentices and their employers with a system of financial incentives to encourage employers to offer employment related training opportunities that will encourage people to acquire and expand their working skills and, as a result, set themselves towards worthwhile careers.
Anyone of working age can be considered for an Australian Apprenticeship. However, not everyone will be eligible to attract Australian Government incentives or other assistance to undertake an Australian Apprenticeship.
The first and second year of an Australian Apprenticeship can be tough for those entering the workforce . But there’s plenty of support available to help you when you need it most! During your Australian Apprenticeship and depending on your situation, you may be eligible to apply for one or more of the following forms of assistance:
- ABSTUDY (Apprentices who have reached minimum school leaving age and are Indigenous Australians)
- Apprenticeship Incentives for Existing Workers
- Apprenticeship Training (fee) Vouchers
- Austudy (for Australian Apprentices aged 25 and over)
- Business Skills Vouchers
- Commonwealth Trade Learning Scholarships (two $500 payments for undertaking a trade Australian Apprenticeship in an area of particular skills need)
- Disabled Australian Apprentices Wage Support and tutorial support for the off-the-job training
- Program Living Away From Home Allowance
