Reduce the real cost of training
Employers hiring an Australian Apprentice may be eligible for a range of Australian Government and State Government incentives. These incentives encourage employers to offer employment-based training opportunities that will encourage people to acquire and expand their working skills.

- From 1 January 2007, Incentives for Higher Technical Skills of $4,000 for targeted Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications, particularly in engineering fields

- Innovation Incentive provides an additional $1,100 incentive paid on commencement in an identified occupation
- Assistance to Australian Apprentices with Disabilities provides wage assistance to eligible employers and additional funding to support the off-the-job training to eligible apprentices
- Australian School-based Apprenticeships Incentive
- Mature Aged Worker Incentive
- Apprenticeship Training Vouchers
- Targeted Assistance for Rural and Regional Areas Across Australia
- Rural and Regional Skills Shortage Incentive provides employers in non-metropolitan areas with an additional incentive to employ and train an Australian Apprentice in industries with identified skills needs.
